Film Friendly, Texas

When creating the logo for the Film Commission’s new community certification program, I was again challenged with similar state stereotypes encountered when designing the leading agency brand. Working closely with the program director during the discovery phase, the similar tones of small-town Texas began to take shape.

Water Towers

Water towers are more than emergency water basins in Texas. In most cases, communities utilize them as a visual medium to showcase a unique element of identification—painting it with the high school mascot or as a giant piece of locally grown produce. Driving by several prominent water towers from Austin to Dallas, I was inspired to incorporate the shape, and days later, the Film Friendly Texas program logo was born.

Film Friendly Texas is a Texas Film Commission certification program that trains community leaders to work effectively with on-location film production and market their resources, driving economic activity in their region.
