Texas Production Manual Covers

Working under the direction of the Marketing Director, I designed the covers for four editions of the Texas Production Manual, 2002 and 2004–2006. The Texas Production Manual is a key service the Texas Film Commission provides to industry professionals. It lists freelance individuals, companies, and associations from the state film, television, commercial, video game, and animation industries. Productions in Texas have used the directory for decades to hire local professionals.

2006 was the final printed edition of the Texas Production Manual, and the Film Commission wanted the cover to be memorable. I made a bold design statement by using contrasting colors of blue and orange. For the centralizing element in the background, I used the recognizably symbolic oak and pecan wreath borrowed from the state seal. Olive wreaths are used by film festivals in awarding accolades to films and I thought this concept was a fitting tribute to the long heritage of the directory.
